The State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office has detained Christian Jesús 'Jimmy', a Chalco councilor and union leader, as part of an operation against illegal water trade, kidnapping, and extortion.

Elements of the Prosecutor's Office of the State of Mexico have detained Christian Jesús 'N', alias 'Gimmy' or 'Jimy', the sixth councilor of Chalco, identified as the leader of the 'October 22 Union'.

The agency indicated that the subject was detained in the early hours of this Friday, November 21, in compliance with an arrest warrant as part of the second phase of 'Caudal' Operation.

It was emphasized that Christian Jesús 'N' was a priority target of said operation due to his involvement in criminal activities related to the extraction, distribution, and illegal trade of water in the State of Mexico.

It was added that 'Gimmy' is also accused of his probable participation in crimes such as kidnapping, extortion, and dispossession, among others.

He was admitted to the Nezahualcóyotl Penitentiary Center at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
